🚀 I built one of the first 3D single & multiplayer game with Grok 3! Think 3D movement, raycasted worlds. Here’s the journey
It started 1 week ago with a wild idea: a 3D game powered by AI. I tried Claude and o3-mini first, but hit walls within hours. They couldn’t handle the complexity—too limited by output tokens and context. Even small changes to working code confused them fast.
Then came Grok 3. The game’s ~3,000 lines of code (minus libraries, configs, etc.) Grok understands it all. Other models choke past 1,000 lines. This was the 3d game-changer.
What’s in the game? Collect speed boosters & ammo cores while dodging AI bots. Grok scripted patrol paths, collision detection, and a health system. It also created an algorithm to generate the cities automatically after some deep research. Solo play feels alive now.
Next, I added multiplayer. Grok synced player positions and shots across clients. After a few hours of tweaking, 2-player deathmatches were live! Includes a login system and character selector too
The game includes a character selector and a few other ui items.
This runs on an Express server with WebSockets streaming the data. Here’s the high-level architecture:
What’s next? - Public version for everyone to play and learn from - Polish animations, boost game quality. - Add DeFi integrations - Better maps Grok 3 made this possible—Thoughts? Want to try it?
